On Wednesday, May 3, 香蕉传媒 celebrated the accomplishments of 17 members of the Class of 2023 who will be graduating from the Honors Program. In recognition of successfully completing the program’s requirements, the graduating students have been named Webster Scholars.

Named after Lee Webster, a much-beloved faculty member and founding member of the Honors Program faculty, the program epitomizes Webster鈥檚 love of life and learning. Honors Program graduates have proudly borne his name as Webster Scholars for the last 26 years.

Honoring their achievements

In addition to the title of Webster Scholar, a permanent transcript notation designates completion of the Honors Program requirements. Honors Program graduates receive special recognition by having their names set apart in the commencement program, wearing medallions and walking first at the graduation ceremony.

Further honoring the 17 graduates was of utmost importance to Dr. Stephanie Johnson, director of the Honors Program and associate professor and chair of the English Department. 鈥淭hey have navigated an unpredictable and unprecedented college experience during a pandemic,鈥 explained Dr. Johnson. 鈥淓ven so, their achievements, their hard work, their service and their love of learning have been tremendous.鈥

  • Sarah Miller, Biology
  • Brianna Niebuhr, Social Work
  • Emily Paulsen, Social Work
  • Jessica Schatz, Communication, English
  • Sarah Schwartz, Nursing
  • Madeleine Servais, Biology
  • Kalley Tietje, Psychology

Dr. Johnson shared her highest congratulations to the Webster Scholars. 鈥淏y presenting you with Webster medallions, we honor your commitment to the love of learning and remind you of the community of learners extending across generations that welcomes you and encourages you.鈥
